Joseph Mannino Obituary

Giuseppe Mannino, 95, of New Fairfield, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 4, 2026.

Mr. Mannino, who went by Joseph, or Joe, was born May 31, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Salvatore and Filippa Mannino.

Joseph would eventually meet his soulmate and wife of over 73 years, the late Ann Mannino. Together they had two children, Robert and Janice, whom they raised in Rosedale, Queens, New York. Joe and Ann would eventually move to Connecticut, where they lived with Janice and her family for over 30 years.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Joe was also a man of many talents. After retiring as a New York City Police Sargent, he was a repairman, owned a sandwich shop, and became the most popular cook in the family. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and was an avid baseball fan his whole life, from growing up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan to eventually rooting for the New York Yankees.

Joe often sang at family events and weddings, had an infectious sense of humor, and was as loyal and thoughtful as they come.

Joseph is survived by his children Robert Mannino (wife Louisa) and Janice Hoey (husband John), as well as seven grandchildren: Jason Mannino (wife Lori), Autumn Hoey, John Hoey (wife Kathleen), Regina Bensten (husband Bradford), Christina Santora (husband Michael), Louis Mannino (wife Chloe), Matthew Hoey (wife Christie), and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, and his wife Ann, Mr. Mannino was predeceased by his siblings Frank Mannino, Anna Citarelli, Rose Arnone, Salvatore Mannino, Mary Muscatello, and Susan Hamill.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.
