Jonathan Allen Obituary

August 22, 1951 – July 20, 2025

Jonathan D. Allen, 73, of Danbury, Connecticut, beloved husband of Margaret L. Jones, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Danbury Hospital after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. His warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born in the Bronx, New York, on August 22, 1951, Jonathan was the son of the late John C. and June (Williams) Allen. He grew up in New York, where he attended local schools and later pursued higher education through classes at Fairfield University, fostering a lifelong curiosity and passion for learning.

Jonathan dedicated much of his professional life to retail management and entrepreneurship. He served as a valued store manager at CVS and Walmart, where his leadership, work ethic, and genuine care for his colleagues and customers earned him respect and admiration. In addition to his retail career, Jonathan was a proud business owner, running his own property management company with dedication and vision. His career was marked by a steadfast commitment to providing for his family and serving his community.

A man of varied interests, Jonathan found joy in the world of electronics, delighting in exploring the latest gadgets and innovations. He was an avid fan of crime shows, with Law & Order holding a special place in his heart as a favorite pastime. Above all, he found solace and inspiration in the soulful melodies of jazz music, which filled his home with warmth and rhythm.

Jonathan made Danbury his home since March 2013, having previously resided in Seymour, Connecticut. His presence in the community was a gift, as he brought kindness and a gentle spirit to those around him.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Margaret L. Jones, with whom he shared a life filled with love and companionship. Jonathan is also survived by his son, Jonathan D. Allen; his brothers, Gefferi Allen (spouse Veronica) and Darryl Allen; his sisters, Deniece Allen Ingram, Stephanie McQuire, and Deborah Johnson; his brother-in-law on his wife’s side, Linton Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Jones family, as well as the Allen family, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a place and time to be announced, where family and friends will gather to honor Jonathan’s remarkable life and legacy.

Jonathan D. Allen will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and enduring presence will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
