John S. Wilk, 97, of Danbury, husband of the late Lucille Ann (Mullin) Wilk, died on Monday, December 5, 2026 at his home.
Mr. Wilk was born in Rutland, VT, January 15, 1928, a son to Franciszk and Michaela Wilk. He attended schools in Vermont and was a former granite quarryman and farmer before moving to Danbury.
A resident of Danbury for the past 65 years coming from West Rutland, VT, he was a retired foreman with Viking Wire Company and later an inspector with American Wire Company.
A U.S. Air Force Korean veteran, Mr. Wilk enjoyed farming, golf and hunting. He was a member of the New Fairfield Senior Center and of St. Joseph Church of Danbury.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Wilk and his wife Wendy and Alan Wilk and his wife Joanne; two daughters, Marjorie Sinclair and her husband Michael and Deborah Ireland and her husband Gregory; six grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Lucas, Lucia, Lia, Justin and Scott and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wilk was predeceased by 5 grandchildren, William, Henry, Zachory, Ashley and Jessica.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, Danbury.
Interment will be private and at the direction of the family
There will be no calling hours.
