John L Hancock Jr.
John L Hancock Jr., a lifelong resident of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the age of 91. Son of Catherine (Pokrywka) and John Hancock, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Repole).
Born and raised in Danbury, John graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1952. He furthered his education at Henry Abbott Technical High School, where he specialized in Drafting and had served in the US Naval Reserves. John dedicated his professional life to Branson Ultrasonics Corporation, from which he retired as a respected purchasing agent. For ten years, John managed treatments for lymphocytic leukemia, a testament to his resilience.
John was an active member of his community, finding camaraderie and joy in his various affiliations. He was a dedicated life long member of the Danbury Drum Corps, Catholic War Veterans Post 1042 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 120, where he contributed his time in varying capacities over the years.
He is survived by his children, John "Jay" L Hancock III of New York City and Jill Hancock of Danbury, and his grandson, Amen Hancock of Danbury. John's legacy of service and dedication will be cherished by his family and all who knew him.
