John David Buckley

John David Buckley, “Dave”, 51, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023. Dave was the loving husband of Ingrid (Buttner) Buckley and beloved father of Juliana “Jules” and Alexander Jack “AJ” Buckley.

Dave was born on February 23, 1971, in Baldwinsville, NY; a son of Judy (Madden) and Harry “Buck” Buckley. Dave Spent his early life splitting the seasons between Sandy Hook, CT, Stonington, CT and Westerly, RI. Dave graduated from Newtown High School in 1989 and continued his education at Springfield College in Springfield, MA, graduating in 1993 with a degree in Recreational Therapy. Dave met Ingrid in 1996 and they were married in Mystic, CT on New Year’s Eve 2002. Ingrid and Dave started their lives together living in Ridgefield, moved to Brooklyn, CT for 10 years and returned to Ridgefield, CT with their two young children.

A Ridgefield resident for the past 8 years, Dave was ever present in the lives of his children Juliana and AJ. He attended and participated in their softball and baseball games and was their biggest fan. Dave was a member of the West Mountain Estates Cornhole League and was a past league champion. He also was a member of the Ridgefield Men’s Softball League where he put his southpaw to work for the Has-Beens. Dave had been an active soccer player for both Newtown and Springfield College. Dave had a love for the ocean, whether on vacation, fishing or boating to Block Island. Dave was also a member of the Westerly Yacht Club. He was always at home when he could be in front of a crowd, whether around a firepit, cheering the kids from the stands or simply in the company of friends and family. 

David began his career as a Recreation Therapist first at Sliver Hill Hospital and then at Four Winds Hospital. In 1998 he transitioned to Physician Recruitment at Weatherby Health Care which started his foray into providing services to the medical community in recruitment, physician placement and medical consulting. In 2004, David started EOS Healthcare Solutions (formerly known as Helios Medical Group) continuing in his service of the medical community. David spent 25 years in sales and leadership with 12 of those years in the medical weight management industry. A thought leader and business influencer, David built a strong reputation for transforming business relationships into business partnerships and lasting friendships.

Dave’s career truly began its trajectory in 2011 via his work with Ideal Protein. His passion for combating obesity inspired both Ingrid and Dave to start their clinic and Dave to continue on with regional work, helping to grow and develop additional clinics across the Northeast. He was well regarded by his peers and was a source of support to all who knew him. Dave spearheaded Ideal Protein’s presence in the pharmacy industry. He then transferred his expertise to become National Sales Director for Moxifit; a next generation approach in wellness and weight management.

Dave was a strong advocate for small businesses. From his work with Independent Pharmacies to local efforts; he served on the Board of Directors for the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce from 2014-2017.

Dave is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ingrid and their children, Juliana and AJ. Dave is also survived by his mother, Judy Buckley; his brother, Richard “Reb” Buckley and his wife, Holly; as well as his sisters in law; Margareth Skaf and her husband, Mahmoud; Karin Kuczinski and her husband, Stefan; his brother-in-law, Helmut Buttner and his wife, Mimi and his mother-in-law, Resi Buttner. In addition, Dave is survived by his nieces and nephews Sydney and Madden Buckley; Jeffrey and Reem Skaf, Zoe and Remi Kuczinski; Jonah and Micah Buttner.

Dave was predeceased by his father, Harry “Buck” Buckley.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. 

A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church; 207 Main Street, Ridgefield. For friends who live closer to Rhode Island, there will be an additional Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Westerly Yacht Club, 1 Watch Hill Road, Westerly, RI.

Interment will take place privately.
