Joel Brett Urice, 74, a long-time resident of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 24th, 2022 after a long illness.

Joel was born on May 3rd, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK. After he graduated from Del City High School in 1965, Joel went on to study at Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a degree in accounting and finance. They traveled the world together with St. Thomas a favorite destination; however, were just as happy sitting on their back deck enjoying the view and sounds of the surrounding nature.

He had a lifelong passion for politics and local government, proudly serving on the Danbury Town Council and as Vice Chairman of the Danbury Planning Commission where he gave back to the community he loved. His interests also included gardening, happily sharing his latest harvests with friends and motorcycle trips with his wife to the Colorado mountains.
