Jocelyn G. Fainer

Jocelyn G. Fainer, 95, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, passed away Friday evening, October 3, 2025. Born October 1, 1930, in Quebec City, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Isabel Gignac.

Known to family and friends as Jo or Josie, she was a devoted volunteer in Ridgefield, actively supporting the Friends of the Ridgefield Library and the scholarship committee for Ridgefield High School. Jo loved to travel and treasured time spent with her nephews, niece, and close friends. Her quiet generosity, warm sense of humor, and deep loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Fainer; sisters Isabel and Mary; and brother Bob. She is survived by four nephews and one niece: Douglas Iverson & his wife Anne of Calgary, Alberta; Barton Iverson of Calgary, Alberta; Ross Iverson of Orleans, Ontario; Kirk Iverson of Calgary, Alberta; and Ann Gignac & her husband Patrick of Saint-Lambert, Quebec. She also leaves many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family expresses profound gratitude to Patty Laspia for her compassionate presence on the night of Jo’s passing and extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Regional Hospice in Danbury for their care and support.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgefield Library Tributes gift program or to the Regional Hospice in Danbury. Funeral arrangements will be held privately. Condolences may be shared with the family through Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield.
