Joanne M. Cifarelli 1938-2024

Joanne M. Cifarelli, 86, of Danbury, died on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Cifarelli was born in Italy on February 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph and Cesarina (Salina) Passoni. She immigrated to the United States in 1947, first settling in Manhattan.

In 1950, she relocated to Queens where she attended St. Bartholomew and Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School.

A retired bilingual administrative assistant with Alitalia Airlines’ advertising department, she devoted her life to raising her two children, Anthony and Claudia. In 2006,

Mrs. Cifarelli relocated to Danbury from Elmhurst, Queens, New York with her daughter and son in law, Claudia and Patrick Boller. She enjoyed music, gameshows, cheering for the NY Rangers and most especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends. Mrs. Cifarelli attended St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury.

In addition to her daughter Claudia Boller and her husband Patrick, Mrs. Cifarelli is survived by a son Anthony Cifarelli and his wife Donna, a sister Ambrosine Vozzo, a brother Joseph Passoni, five grandchildren Victoria, Juliana, Kyle, Anthony Joseph, and Jack and her former husband Antonio Cifarelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury with the Rev. Matthew Loman, Parochial Vicar officiating.

Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m
