Joan (Montesi-Sailer) Wixon

Joan (Montesi-Sailer) Wixon, 89, of Danbury, CT went to her heavenly home on June 3, 2021.

She was born on June 16, 1931, daughter of James Montesi Sr, and Bertha (Ploncon) Montesi, sister of Gloria (Sequra) Montesi and James Montesi Jr. She was the proud, loving wife of George Wixon, and mother of Jessica (Tomlinson) Sailer, Charles Sailer Jr, and Holly (Colón-Gillotti) Sailer. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Despite the size of her family, Joan always made time to show everyone she knew compassion and unconditional love. As soon as you entered her home you became family; her door and heart were always open to anyone who met her. She was a creative soul with a beautiful, free spirit and a desire to dance to the music, no matter the place. She had a passion for cooking Italian cuisine and creating the most beautiful flower arrangements and paintings, however, her greatest passion was caring for others. She joyfully worked as a home health aide and was as dedicated to her family as she was to the Lord. She lived with nothing but love and faith in her heart, and never failed to put a smile on everyone's face. Her devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever be in their hearts, as they pass down the love and care she unconditionally spread to each and every one of them. She will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, June 7, 2021, from 4 PM to 6 PM with a Prayer Service at 6 PM.
