Joan S. Rychlik

Joan S. Rychlik, 86, a long-time resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut, passed away on Thursday July 16, 2026.

Joan was born in Newark, New Jersey, raised in Kenilworth and graduated from Immaculata College in 1961. She lived in Ridgefield, Connecticut for forty-eight years.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents Salvatore and Loretta Scavuzzo and brother Robert. She is survived by her sisters Carol, Sally and Patty and her son Peter (Ann), son Terrence (Monica), son Bruce (Kristina), daughter Lauren Rychlik Brewer (Joel), as well as eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She loved nothing more than having her family together, cooking for them and knitting them hats, sweaters and Christmas stockings. 

Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 3, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield.
