Joan Marie (Mirabito) Rotunda

Due to the pending snow storm, the Mass of Christian Burial has been postponed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10 AM in St. Mary Church, Bethel. Visitation/Calling hours will still be held on SUNDAY, December 28th from 2PM to 5PM at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home.

Joan M. Rotunda, 91, of Bethel, wife of Bernard “Bernie” Rotunda, died on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Bethel Health Care.

Mrs. Rotunda was born in Danbury on July 26,1934 to the late Frederick and Helen (Trester) Mirabito. A lifelong area resident, she attended local schools and graduated from Bethel High School with the Class of 1952. She was a retired office staff member of the former Danbury-Bethel Gas Company and later Connecticut Light & Power Co.

Mrs. Rotunda enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She was a communicant of St. Mary Church, Bethel.

In addition to her husband Bernie, she is survived by a son Brian and his wife Michelle, a grandson Samuel and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rotunda was predeceased by three brothers, Fred, Richard and Vincent Mirabito.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Church, Bethel on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10 a.m..

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.

Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on SUNDAY, December 28th, 2025 from 2PM to 5PM.
