JoAnn R. Lynch

JoAnn Rita (Famosi) Lynch, “Granny” 88, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

JoAnn “Granny” was born in Waltham, MA, on August 18, 1937. to the late Anastasia Famosi. She was predeceased by her husband Robert F. Lynch in 2000, and her children Corrine Lynch 1967 and Kevin Lynch 2006. She is survived by her children Gary Lynch and his wife Jennifer of Derry, NH, Brian Lynch and his wife Darlene of North Lawrence, NY, and Stephen Lynch and his wife Andrea of Blanchard, ID, and 13 grandchildren, Derek, Corrine, Alechia, Paul, Elizabeth, Matthew, Veronica, Andrew, Brenden, Kara, Melissa, Ashley and Cameron and many great grandchildren.

JoAnn “Granny” was a dedicated member of Society Saint Pius Tenth (SSPX) where she became their head housekeeper in 1992, doing duties of organizing for retreats, shopping, ironing, cleaning and more. JoAnn traveled many places on pilgrimages with her religious community, Rome, Jerusalem, Mexico and Italy. She enjoyed telling her adventures to all. She was a dedicated member of the Third Order of the SSPX and of the Women’s Rosary Society. JoAnn met many people in the church community that will miss her greatly, she considered them family more than just friends. She will be deeply missed by all. 

JoAnn passed away on Sunday, the feast of the Holy Name  of Jesus, 

“Blessed be his name, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For if we believe in him, we will have life eternal. I can only imagine the greatness that God has stored up for us in Heaven.” When we face him in person, what will my heart feel—will I fall to my knees or even be able to speak at all? I can only imagine being face to face with our Lord.

May Her Soul and all the Souls of the Faithfully Departed through the Mercy of God, Rest In Peace.  Amen. 

A wake will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Christ The King Church; 209 Tackora Trail, Ridgefield. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 7:00 PM. A Requiem Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Christ The King Church, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield.
