Jeanne S. Volpe, 86, of Danbury, wife of Charles J. Volpe Sr., died on Sunday morning, October 3, 2021, at Danbury Hospital.
Mrs. Volpe was born in Bethel, on November 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Muehlfeld) Stelzel. She attended Bethel schools and graduated from Bethel High School with the Class of 1952.
In earlier years, Mrs. Volpe worked at Sperry Corporation. After raising her three children, she then became a secretary with the Guidance Dept. of Immaculate High School, Danbury.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Volpe was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Danbury. She enjoyed baking, cooking, taking care of her home, and enjoying time shared together with her family; most especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of sixty-three years, Mrs. Volpe is survived by a daughter, Jeanne V. Kozlowski and her husband, Anthony of Bethel; two sons, Charles “Chick” Volpe Jr. and his wife, Michelle and Raymond Volpe all of Danbury; a sister, Betty Briscoe of Bethel and six grandchildren, Charles (CJ) Volpe and his wife Katie, Michael Volpe, Gregory Kozlowski, Alexa Kozlowski, Jared Volpe, and Marissa Volpe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
There will be no calling hours.
