James E. Morasco Sr.
James E. Morasco Sr., 86, of Brookfield, husband of Paula (Yarosh) Morasco, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Mr. Morasco was born in Danbury on April 18, 1938, to Donald Clady and Marion (Peck) Morasco. He attended Danbury schools, Danbury High School-Class of 1956 and attained his Associate's degree from Naugatuck Valley Community-Technical College in 1996 and his Bachelor’s degree from Western CT University in 2000.
He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor and Locksmith at the former Fairfield Hills Hospital, Newtown.
Upon his retirement, Mr. Morasco pursued an interest in Archeology and became an archeologist volunteer.
He was a lifelong area resident.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of the Archaeological Society of CT, Candlewood Lake Council 3rd degree Knights of Columbus of Brookfield, the John D. Kennedy Assembly 4th degree Knights of Columbus of Danbury and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Brookfield.
In addition to his wife of forty-six years, Mr. Morasco is survived by a son, James E. Morasco, a daughter Jacqueline End Tow, three sisters Joyce Wirtes, Minnie Morasco, and Joan Ahern, his beloved brother-in-law Arthur Yarosh Jr. and five grandchildren.James is predeceased by a brother Donald Morasco, two sisters, Linda Morasco and Jean Kovacs, and a beloved Aunt and Uncle Carol and William Pullan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. in St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 138 Candlewood Lake Rd., Brookfield.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia, CT with military honors.
Friends may call at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
