Innocenta Sulogini Savundranayagam, the beloved wife of Thomas (Tommy) Justus Savundranayagam and beloved mother of Francis Alfston Thomas and the daughter of Late Mr. & Mrs. Ligory Francis and daughter in Law of Late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Savundranayagam, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2020.
Sulogini was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and studied at Holy Family Convent. Her adventurous spirit led her to Rome, Italy where she lived for twelve years with her siblings and mother. She quickly became fluent in Italian and obtained a job at the Zambian embassy in Rome. In Rome, she discovered her love for tennis and traveled across the country making pilgrimages to various churches and religious sites. She moved to the United States to marry the love of her life, Tommy. Since then, she worked at First American Title Insurance, commuting daily to New York City. A Ridgefield resident for the last 10 years, she was active in the Ridgefield community most prominently as a homebound eucharistic minister for St. Mary Parish. She was incredibly disciplined and dedicated and enjoyed spending time with her husband, son, and loving poodle Abby.
Her life was a living example of her favorite bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Sulogini was the loving sister of Francis Alphonsus Jayarajah, Agnes Pathmini Thambynayagam, Vimala Emmanuel, Antenet Rajani Thavarajah, Josephine Rahini Sebastian and Miriam Yohini Rajaratnam.
