Gloria Louise (Carbone) Testa

Gloria Carbone Testa, 96, went to her home of eternal rest on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

She was born in the Bronx, January 11, 1929 and was always a 'New York gal' despite the big move to Ridgefield, Connecticut.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rosario (Sal) Testa, parents Andrew and Antoinette Carbone, brother Phillip and granddaughter, Erin. She is survived by her 8 loving daughters, Valerie (David), Sally (Paul), Sue (Kevin), Toni (Alex), Teri (Vinnie), Marylee, Gloria (Chris), Lenora (Joe), 14 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was blessed to be surrounded by all, and she was certainly adored her grands. 

Gloria was known for her outgoing, lively, fun loving disposition and always was the life of the party. She had a true love for music, dancing, rumicube, mahjong, bocce, bowling, baseball and trips to the casino. Summertime was party time and the entire neighborhood was involved in pool volleyball and badminton. Friday nights were for homemade pizza and pasta. 

While raising her daughters, she worked part time at the elementary school and volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. She was very active in the Catholic Church, by both volunteering and teaching her love for God's word. She and Sal were also an integral part of the Italian American Mutual Aid Society in Ridgefield. Traveling was passion of theirs, as they took many cruises and land tours. As snowbirds in Orlando, she and Sal adored going to Disney World and Sea World for many years as they entertained their guests. 

For the past 11 years, Gloria resided at Maplewood Assisted Living in Newtown, where her vibrant personality led her to being a community ambassador as well as instituting and running the country store, through which she provided many gifts to charity. 

Gloria’s energy and vibrance will be missed and certainly never forgotten.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Entombment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery; 110 North Street, Ridgefield.

Contributions in Gloria's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
