Georgeann Fagas, 95, of Danbury, longtime resident of Ridgefield, CT, and Pearl River, NY, died peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late John Fagas for 65 years.
Mrs. Fagas, a first generation American whose parents immigrated from Greece, was born in Manhattan, New York City in 1929. She married the love of her life and after helping to put him through graduate school, went on to graduate from Towson University in Maryland with a degree in Elementary Education. After raising her children, Mrs. Fagas returned to work and retired as a Foreign Correspondent for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. She was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and always enjoyed spending time at the beach, caring for her pets, traveling with friends and family, painting, and attending shows and concerts. More than anything else, she loved her family and supported them through every phase of their lives.
Mrs. Fagas is survived by her children: J. Christopher Fagas and his wife Kathleen, and Alexandra “Sandy” Clouse and her husband, Joe. Mrs. Fagas is also survived by her three grandchildren that she was so very proud of and devoted to: Lindsay, John and Stephen.
The Rite of Burial will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 12:00 PM in Assumption Greek Orthodox Church; 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury. Interment will follow in Mapleshade Cemetery, Ridgefield. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Danbury from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.
