George W. Wixon

George W. Wixon Sr., 90, of Danbury, husband of the late Joan (Montesi-Sailer) Wixon, died on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Bethel Healthcare, Bethel, CT.

Mr. Wixon was born in Danbury, May 27, 1931, the son of the late Wilbur and Kathleen (Churchill) Wixon. He attended Danbury schools.

Mr. Wixon was employed with the former W.F. Tomlinson Company of Danbury in their concrete burial vault and livery divisions. In later years, he was employed with Amphenol of Danbury.

Mr. Wixon was a member of the Concordia Society, Moose Lodge, and Faith Church of New Milford.

Surviving Mr. Wixon is a son, George W. Wixon Jr. of Waterbury and by a sister Marilyn J. Glowney and her husband John of Danbury. Three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday evening at 5 P.M. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury, with Pastor Dan Totilo of Faith Church, officiating.

Interment will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, at the direction of the family. 

Friends will be received in the funeral home on Wednesday between the hours of 4 PM to 6 PM.
