   1938-2024

Florence Helen Gardner, 85, formerly of Danbury, CT, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Sharon Health Care Center, Sharon, CT.

Helen (as she was known to family and friends) was born in Manchester, England on April 6, 1938, to the late George and Eva Royle.

She immigrated to the United States in 1971 first settling in Danbury, Connecticut and living most of her later years in New Milford.

An area resident for the past 53 years, Mrs. Gardner was a retired bookkeeper for the Maritime Aquarium of Norwalk, as well as other area businesses.

She enjoyed being amongst the many friends she had made over the years, listening to music, singing in the choir and being near the water.

Helen was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of New Milford.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Irene, and her son Steven.  She is survived by a son Kevin, his wife Kendra and grandson Colin of Brookfield, daughter Debbie of Torrington, brother David, niece Sue and nephew Simon, all of the United Kingdom.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 7 Whittlesey Ave., New Milford, CT.

Entombment will take place at the direction of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
