Evelyn Beebe Obituary

Evelyn (Eve) Lucretia Beebe, 65, of Ridgefield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, March 15, 2021. Eve was the daughter of the Late David C. Beebe Jr and Jean Lewis Beebe. Eve is survived by her daughter Jean, and husband Tyler Rodgers, and her grandson Mason; they were the light of her life. Mason called Eve “Mimi “, and together had so many fun adventures. Eve and her brothers David C. Beebe III (Andrea) and Scott M. Beebe (Brenda) grew up in Englewood, NJ and spent their summers in Pine Orchard, CT. Eve loved her extended family especially her nieces and nephews who adored her- Vanessa (Cameron) Shahidi, JD (Liz) Beebe, Alyssa (Christian) Power, Ryan (Lindsay)Beebe, Kateyn Beebe, Nick Beebe, and Kyle Beebe. Eve was a wonderful aunt! Her great nieces and nephews (Mitra, Indiana, Archer, Lincoln, Sunny, Stella, Evie, and Orion) lifted her spirits bringing her so much joy.

Eve graduated from The Dwight Englewood High School and Endicott College, and later earned a teaching degree from Western Connecticut State College. Eve’s love for children was seen through her work as a Montessori teacher. For many years,

Eve’s life centered around St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She served on the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School, Nutmeg Fair committee, and chaperoned the yearly mission trips to name a few. Her friendships made during these times meant the world to her.

Eve pursued many hobbies. She loved photography, being outdoors, bird watching, and crafts. Each year she looked forward to her roadtrips with her lifelong friends Kimeberly Gerlander and Martha Everson. One never knew what trouble they would get into. And her cats who often accompanied them en route. There have been many cats along the way, but only one when Eve passed away; his name is Bill, he is a loving, spunky cat who will miss his Mom, but Jean and Tyler will take good care of him. Eve will truly be missed by many. She will leave behind a legacy of love for her family and friends, her faith, and her laughter. Eve had the best laugh!
