Emilie H. (Falls) McCarthy

Emilie (Falls) McCarthy, 95, of Danbury, died peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Harold McCarthy.

Mrs. McCarthy was born in Danbury, CT on September 21, 1930; the only child of the late John and Arvila (Settell) Falls.   Emilie was a lifelong resident of Danbury. She graduated from Saint Peter School and Danbury High School with the Class of 1948.

Mrs. McCarthy was the proprietor, along with her husband, Harold (Mac) of the former Dress Well Cleaners of  Bethel. She was a  parishioner of Saint Joseph Church, Danbury and volunteered for many events at St Joseph’s.

Mrs. McCarthy is survived by her four children: John McCarthy, Brenda Canney, Kim Leonetti and Colleen Scalzo, as well as 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. 

A  private funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church; Entombment took place in Saint Peter Cemetery.
