Emil Thomas Vigilio, 84, of New Fairfield, CT, formerly of Westchester County, NY, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at his home.
He was the loving husband of 64 years to Eileen (nee Williams) Vigilio. They were married in St. Francis of Rome Church in the Bronx on October 5th, 1957.
Mr. Vigilio was born in the Bronx, NY, on March 25, 1937, the son of the late Alfred and Rose (Funicello) Vigilio. He attended Bronx schools and graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School, Bronx, NY. Mr. Vigilio was a plumber by trade. He was an avid bowler, a NY Yankee fan, and a volunteer member of the Hawthorne Fire Company for 40 years.
He enjoyed the opportunity to share time with his family and friends and most especially the time shared with his grandchildren. He will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife Eileen, he is survived by two daughters, Janine Cardinale and her husband Jerry of Hawthorne, NY, and Christine Vigilio of New Fairfield with whom they made their home; two sons, Emil Vigilio and his wife Cheryl of Patterson, NY and Michael Vigilio of Pleasantville, NY, a sister Theresa Vincent of Norwalk, CT and seven grandchildren Peter and Kevin Vigilio, Kristen Cardany and her husband Austin, Nicole Cardinale and her fiancée Chris Brady, Daniel Cardinale, Logan, and Chloe Vigilio.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Vigilio was predeceased by his two sisters, Mary Ann Grogan and Angela Trapani.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 11 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT. Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
