     1938 – 2025

Ellen Marie McKinley, 87 of Sandy Hook, CT, wife of the late Stephen J.  McKinley, died on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Danbury Hospital.

Ellen was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Francis and Marie (Daley) Stein.  She attended school in New York, graduating with honors from Bishop McDonnell Catholic High School.

An area resident since 1962, coming from Queens, NY, she was a former office manager working in the paper industry.

She is survived by four sons, Keith McKinley and his wife Susan, Kerry McKinley and his wife Brenda, Kristopher McKinley and his wife Marissa and Kraig McKinley and his wife Michele, late son’s partner Suzanne England, two sisters, Violet Pultorak and Rosemary Zachos, grandchildren, Kate and James Mitchell, Patrick and Liz McKinley, Grace and Nicholas Krantz, Brian and Victoria McKinley, Clare McKinley, Sarah McKinley, Alex McKinley, Sean McKinley, Moira McKinley, Ian McKinley, Adrienne McKinley and Colin McKinley, two great grandchildren, Laine Mitchell and Maeve McKinley and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ellen was predeceased by her son Kevin McKinley.

Ellen was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known for her generosity and hospitality. She loved welcoming family and friends to her home for joyful gatherings. She will be forever missed by her grateful family and dear friends.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 8, 2025 in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury with Msgr. Robert Weiss officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
