Eileen D. (Galligan) Post

Eileen D. Post (Galligan), 85 of Danbury, died on Monday March 24, 2025.   

Eileen was born on October 26, 1939.  She was the daughter of the late James T. Galligan, III and Helen (MacDonald) Galligan.    She lived in the Bronx, NY and graduated from St Helena’s Catholic High School.    Her family spent the summers camping at Squantz Pond and on Candlewood Lake in Danbury, which is where she met her future husband Ken Post.  She and Ken were married in 1961 and lived in Danbury.

She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were older when she went back to work as an Executive Assistant at McCormick Servo Controls, followed by National Car Rental and finally Trio and Associates.

Eileen was pre-deceased by her husband, Kenneth E. Post Jr and her daughter Penny Post Johnston.   She survived by her daughter, Lauren Seidl and husband John of Marietta, GA, son-in-law, Steven Johnston of New Fairfield, CT, grandchildren James Seidl, Steven Johnson (wife Criss), and Mia Johnston, great-grandchildren William Seidl and Noah Johnston and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (370 Main St, Danbury, CT 06810.
