Edouard H. Vieux, Sr., 88, of Danbury, CT entered eternal rest on September, 6, 2025. He is survived by his children, Edouard Jr. and spouse Marilyn, of Danbury, Laurette of Chesterfield, VA, Robert and spouse Melinda of Trumbull, CT and Suzanne and spouse Aaron of Ridgefield, CT, along with eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was born on February 9, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, NY, and spent his early years in Rye and Pelham, NY before attending Alfred College in upstate New York. He joined the U.S. Air Force and later served in the Reserves. He eventually settled in Norwalk, CT where he began a family with his former spouse.
He had many passions including his love of the New York Yankees and Jets, having season tickets to the Jets for almost 40 years. Ed also excelled at shooting sports, and was a member of the Advertising Sportsmen’s Club of New York, and The Weston Gun Club in the 70’s and 80’s. He was the Trapshooting Champion three years running at Weston GC in the late 70’s. He enjoyed many activities including fishing and hunting. He remained active in his later years, proudly playing his last softball game at age 65.
Never at a loss for words or a debate, he enjoyed his retirement with enthusiasm, spending time at various clubs in Norwalk, and occasionally joining his sons for golf outings. Even as his health declined, he continued to engage in lively discussions with staff and visitors at Glen Hill nursing facility in Danbury, where he spent his final years.
He will be missed by those who knew him.
