Doris (Wilson) Ryan

Doris (Wilson) Ryan, 93, of Danbury, formerly of Sherman, wife of the late Thomas J. Ryan, died on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Mrs. Ryan was born in White Plains, NY on August 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Frederick and Julia (Murray) Wilson.

She attended New York schools and was a switchboard operator with the former NY Telephone Co. A resident of Sherman for the past 55 years coming from Westchester County, NY. Mrs. Ryan is survived by 2 sons, Christopher Ryan and his wife Donna, and John Ryan and his wife Ruth, 3 daughters, Tracey Marsh and her husband Jim, Denise Wiedl and her husband T.J., and Eileen Omasta and her husband Paul, seventeen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ryan was predeceased by four brothers, Calvin, John, Fred, and Raymond.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Regional Hospice, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810.
