Donna L. (Benjamin) Moore

Donna L. (Benjamin) Moore, 72, loving wife of James M. Moore, died on Friday, April 2, 2021, after a long illness. Mrs. Moore was born in Pittsfield, MA, on September 28, 1948, to the late Mabel (Ritchie) and Gerald R. Benjamin. Growing up mostly in Danbury, she attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1966. She then furthered her education by attending Henry Abbott Technical School of Danbury and enrolling in their nursing program. Donna graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School as a member of their first graduating class of nursing students. She was a cheerleader for the basketball team while attending. She began her nursing career immediately upon graduation taking a position with the Danbury Hospital. Later she was a nurse in the medical practice of Dr. Kumar. Donna retired from her nursing career to take care of her mother. Donna was a caring loving person to many. She loved her family, friends, and her vocation as a Nurse. She enjoyed going to casinos here in CT as well as NJ and Vegas and playing local bingo with her mother and their friends. She loved to bowl and won many awards and tournaments. She was an avid reader and completing many books of crossword puzzles with pen in hand when most needed a pencil with an eraser! Most of all she loved being with family, friends, and her two dogs. She will be greatly missed by her husband Jim; three daughters Nancy Pagan (Chris), Denise Herrera (Bert), Kimmy Wixon-Moore; four grandchildren, JJ Pagan, Kross Wixon, Zander Wixon, and Mateo Herrera and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 11 AM.  Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to your favorite charity in Donna's memory would be most appreciated.
