Diane DeSerio, 67, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024. She was the loving wife of Richard DeSerio.
Diane was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 19, 1957. She met her future husband Rich shortly after high school at the age of 19. They were married in 1984 and moved to Ridgefield in 1990. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on September 23rd.
A longtime Ridgefield resident, Diane was a retired medical receptionist. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf – often playing 4 or 5 times per week. Diane also enjoyed time with family, cooking, sewing and travel; especially to Italy
Faith was paramount in Diane’s life. She was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and was a devout and active member of Saint Mary Parish. Diane also volunteered in many capacities at Saint Elizabeth Seton Parish. As a woman of God, she impacted the lives of many through her gentle soul.
Diane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rich, as well as her brother, Vincent Pizzitola and his wife, Janice and brothers-in-law Joe DeSerio and his wife Joan, and Bill DeSerio and his wife Beverly.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Marianne Mikowski, Jessica Mintz (Rob), Christine Steel (Dan), Stephanie Holtje (Erik), Joseph DeSerio(Desiree), Lisa DeSerio, Alana Volinski (Stephanie)and Jared DeSerio; as well as her grandnieces and grandnephews: Madeline, Jack, Lillian, Nathan, Pauline, William, Addison and Giovanna.
Diane will also be remembered by her golfing partners, her fellow church parishioners as well as her special cat, Woody.
Diane was predeceased by her mother, Frances Pizzitola for whom she retired from her career as a medical receptionist to care for until her death in 2013.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.
