Diana (Antunes) Frederick - In Loving Memory of a Great Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister and Friend  – April 26th, 1949 - July 28th, 2024

Diana (Antunes) Frederick, 75 years old, of Trumbull, CT was born April 26, 1949, in Danbury, CT, to the late Ida (Macedo) and Manuel Antunes. She died peacefully with her daughter by her side at Bridgeport Hospital, on the evening of July 28th, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.

Throughout Diana’s career and as a longtime resident of Danbury, she worked within Business Administration for  CL&P (Connecticut Light and Power), Dunhill Emloyment Agency, UPS Research & Development and Waterworks. Following her retirement, she worked alongside her late husband as a crossing guard for the Danbury Public School System.

Diana is survived by her daughter Jennifer Frederick, Marc Samuels and her granddaughter, Morgan Samuels, of Stratford, CT. She was the wife of her belated and beloved husband Lawrence (Larry) of 42 years. Diana was the sister to the late, Sandra Smith, and her brother-in-law Gary Smith, who resides in Myrtle Beach, SC. Diana is also survived by her niece, Laurie Canepa, of Round Rock, Texas and her nephew, Christopher Smith, of Tolland, CT.

Diana loved her family and friends. She was an exceptional cook, baker and loved animals, especially her cat. Diana's sense of humor, wit, strength, and love for her family and friends will always be remembered. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and family vacations. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury. A graveside funeral service and interment will follow on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 PM in Saint Peter’s Cemetery; 71 Lake Avenue Extension, Danbury.
