Derek Williams

Derek Williams of Stamford, CT, the loving husband of Ursula Williams died on Tuesday April 19, 2022.

He was born in Silver Spring, MD, on May 23, 1976, and his early life involved several relocations within the U.S., as well as three years spent in Hong Kong during elementary school. After returning to CT, Derek graduated from Wilton High School in 1996. As he grew older, he was able to use his childhood fascination with early personal computers as a foundation for a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Penn State University and a subsequent 23-year career in IT management with General Electric, State Street Bank, and BlackRock Investments.

He was a very active sportsman - a low handicap golfer, a skilled snowboarder, a certified scuba diver and an enthusiastic hockey player, a sport he first took up later in life. He loved traveling, fine dining with his family and many friends, and playing with his nieces who totally adored him.

Derek is survived by his wife of 15 years, Ursula Williams; his father Warren Williams and stepmother Betty Williams of Wilton, CT; his mother Robin Kerr Williams of Leavenworth, KS; his brother Darren Williams, of Chicago, Il; his sister Megan W. Salomone and brother-in-law Kory Salomone of Ridgefield, CT; his brother Drew Williams off Leavenworth, KS; as well as his nieces and nephew Anna and Julia Salomone of Ridgefield and Theo Williams of Chicago.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday April 23, 2022, from Noon until 3:00 at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Reflections and tributes to Derek will be offered at 2:00. Interment will take place privately.
