David Palmer Obituary

David Theodore Palmer, 74, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, on March 19, 1952, Dave was the son of the late Adele (Wigley) Palmer and Theodore R. Palmer. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Ridgefield, where he would spend the rest of his life and become a well-known member of the community.

Dave attended SUNY Morrisville, NY where he studied Automotive Technology before returning to Ridgefield to pursue the career he loved. For 45 years, he was the proud owner and operator, and self-proclaimed C.E.S. (Chief Executive Stitcher), of Ridgefield Auto Upholstery. His exceptional craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine pride in his work earned him a reputation for excellence. Whether restoring the interior of a treasured classic automobile or upholstering a cherished piece of furniture, Dave approached every project with care.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Dave had a passion for automobiles, especially classic cars, and never missed the chance to attend a great car show. He loved taking Sunday drives, enjoying a good beer or bourbon, and spending time with family and friends. He was also member of the Ridgefield Italian American Club.

Perhaps what people will remember most was Dave's ability to make everyone feel like a friend. He had a remarkable gift for striking up a conversation with anyone. He enjoyed getting to know people, hearing their stories, and sharing a laugh. His warm personality, kind heart, easy smile, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Carla (Pribanic) Palmer; his daughters, Rachael Inzitari and her husband, Michael, Hattie Acampora and her husband, Geoffrey, and Anna Palmer; his cherished grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Inzitari; his brother, Ted Palmer; his brothers-in-law; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless loyal friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

His legacy lives on in the family he adored, the community he served, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

A columbarium prayer service and the entombment of his cremated remains will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM in Saint Mary's Cemetery, 110 North Street, Ridgefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dave's memory to the Yale New Haven Health Smilow Cancer Center.
