Cynthia Define Obituary

Cynthia Marie (Renna) Define, age 51, passed away on May 6, 2021, in Mount Sinai Hospital, NYC. She was born on December 9, 1969, and was raised in New Fairfield, CT, by parents Nancy and James Renna. After graduating from New Fairfield High School in 1987, Cindy attended hairstyling school, to launch a future career in hairdressing. Cyndi worked as a highly-skilled hairstylist at Adam Broderick Salon in Ridgefield, CT for over a decade, and then left the profession to raise her family from home. Cyndi married in December 2001, and during the marriage, they had three wonderful children: Michael, Amelia, and Nicolas. After a divorce, Cyndi continued as a single mom, and then met Anthony Primavera, where they both came together as a happy and loving blended family. Anthony’s daughter, Sami, along with Cyndi’s three children, created a comfortable home and nice life together. Cyndi enjoyed travel, but she was truly a dedicated mother, first and foremost. She loved being there for her children especially when they played football, cheerleading, and lacrosse. Through her own journey, Cyndi became a strong advocate of organ donation. She wanted to educate people, and to have them really understand the importance of organ donation … and more so, the powerful message of “Saving a Life” through the selfless act of donating an organ to help save another person’s life. This was her advocacy and will be her legacy. Predeceased by her parents Nancy and James Renna, Cyndi is survived by her three children, Michael, Amelia, and Nicolas; Anthony Primavera and his daughters Kristina, Ali, and Sami; Brother David Renna; two Aunts: Gloria Balaz and Beverly Balaz; Cousins: Jason Rosenbaum, Lisa Renna Smith and husband Sam, Kim Renna-Castellani, Joleen Dennison and Uncle and Aunt Tom and Dayle Renna. Cyndi will be deeply missed. Family and friends will remember her as being: kind, fun, spiritually deep, sensitive, strong, and wholesome, with an effervescent personality. Cyndi was that person that made you feel like you were the most important person or always made any event over the top. She never followed the rules, she made them. She loved and enjoyed get-togethers with her whole family, on any occasion. She was a dedicated mother who was creative in thought and mind, with an artistic flair. Cyndi loved her parents to the moon and back, had great times with her brother David and was proud of her entire immediate and extended family. Her son Michael, who recently joined the Marines last fall, brought Cyndi and Anthony much warm joy and pride. Sami, Amelia, and Nicolas, were cherished every day, as they moved year-to-year through school, developing into wonderful young adults. Cyndi and Anthony created a loving home environment, and together, they proudly raised their children with love and respect. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
