Constance Lucsky Piskura

Constance “Connie” Lucsky Piskura, 75, of New Fairfield, CT passed away at Danbury Hospital on September 16, 2023. A lifelong CT native, she was born [to the late Christine Meyer Luscky and Andrew Luscky] on March 13, 1948.

Connie was the loving wife of 39 years to Richard Piskura and mother to Michael Lucksy (Nancy) of Chapin, SC; the late Laura Grumbo Cooney (Patrick) of Sandy Hook, CT; and Shelly Grumbo (Frank) of Aberdeen, NJ. She treasured her grandchildren Christopher, Zachary, Sydni, Samantha, PJ, Grace, and Liam and she loved being grandmother to many fur babies. Her role as a grandparent brought her great happiness. 

An avid reader, Connie spent many years volunteering her time to repair books at the New Fairfield Public Library. She had remarkable crochet and knitting talents, and she shared her artistry to make gifts for others. From acquaintances to family, anyone who had a child received a handmade baby blanket. She also used her skills to make lap blankets, which she donated to local nursing homes. 

Connie was sharp-witted and intelligent; she often knew the answers to every question on Jeopardy, [a show she watched nightly until Ken Jennings became host]. Analytical and quick, she was adept at Sudoku, crossword, and jigsaw puzzles, which she completed effortlessly. An avid gardener, this joy was shared with her sister, Christine “Brenda” [Wharton of New Milford, CT]. Connie will be remembered fondly by many loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 3 P.M. in the Congregational Church of New Fairfield, 20 Gillotti Rd., New Fairfield, CT with the Rev. Elizabeth Yoho, Pastor officiating.  Interment will be private and at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
