Christina Harwich

Christina Harwich, 94. of New Fairfield, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Christina was born in New Rochelle, NY, on October 1, 1927, the daughter of Hilary (Larry) and Mary (Murray) Harwich. She attended local schools and graduated from New Rochelle High School.

In her early years, Christina was employed with General Foods and retired after thirty years of service as their benefits coordinator.

An area resident for many years coming from New Rochelle, Christina was a volunteer at the New Fairfield Free Public Library and a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church.

Often referred to as an old maid, Christina often replied that she was not an old maid but an unclaimed treasurer.

She is survived by two nieces, Susan Smith, and Laurie Harwich, and by a nephew Douglas Harwich. She is also survived by several grandnieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Christina was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Harwich, and by a nephew Michael Harwich.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 10:30 am in St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield.

Interment followed in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield.

There were no calling hours.
