Charles H. Knapp Sr., 76, of Ridgefield, husband of the late Judith (Chard) Knapp, died on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Knapp was born in Norwalk, CT, August 27, 1945 son of Clifford and Corrine (Longtain) Knapp and raised in Lewisboro, NY where he attended local schools and graduated from John Jay High School of Cross River, NY. He later attained his certification in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Knapp was a former volunteer with the Vista, NY Volunteer Fire Company. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and clamming. Mr. Knapp was the proprietor of Division St. Plumbing of Danbury for the past twenty-five years and a member of St. Mary Church of Ridgefield.
He is survived by a son, Charles “Hank” Knapp of Ridgefield, a daughter, Amy Knapp Sanders, and her husband Christopher of Norwalk, five grandchildren, Kyle, Lauren, Cameron, Peter, and Grace, and by a great-granddaughter Josie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11:30 am in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.
Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
Friends will be received in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Saturday from 9:45 am to 10:45 AM.
All those in attendance are requested to wear a facial covering and or mask.
