Catherine A. Clement, 91, of Danbury, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 while surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony J. Clement Sr.
Mrs. Clement was born in Danbury on July 26, 1932; a daughter of the late George and Victoria (Ellis) Hannan.
A lifelong resident of Danbury, Mrs. Clement was a retired Quality Control Associate for the Barden Corporation. She was also a loan officer for Union Savings Bank (formerly Danbury Savings & Loan) and Union Trust. After her retirement she loved cleaning houses.
In her spare time, Mrs. Clement enjoyed duck pin bowling, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles and family gatherings. She had an outgoing personality and a wonderful sense of humor.
Mrs. Clement is survived by her children: James (Sharon) Clement of South Carolina, Michael (Wanda) Clement of North Carolina, Susan (James) Haug of Massachusetts, and Cathy Scargill (Jorge) Fernandes of Danbury with whom she resided.
Mrs. Clement is also survived by her grandchildren: Jason (Johanna) Clement, Matthew Clement, David (Katie) Haug, Julie (Matt) Drinkham, Melissa (Donald) Ferguson, Jessica Clement, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clement also leaves behind her beloved family dog Max and cat Sambo whom she loved very much.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Clement was predeceased by her son, Anthony Clement Jr., her grandson, Christopher Clement, brothers John Hannan and David Hannan, sisters Grace Hannan and Gertrude Esposti.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury. Interment will take place privately.
