On February 7, 2022, Brian Francis Buckley, loving husband of Rebecca and devoted father of Robert, passed away suddenly at the age of 57. Brian was born on November 12, 1964, in Queens, NY, the only child of Francis Buckley and Eileen Garvan.
Brian was a kind and gentle soul, who deeply cared about people and animals. He dedicated his entire life to public service. Brian worked for the Office of Court Administration for many years, as a Court Attorney, Supervising Court Attorney, and Court Attorney Referee in New York City.
Brian served as a member of the Civil Air Patrol and commanded both the New Fairfield and Danbury Squadrons. Brian was a beloved colleague, known for being extraordinarily helpful and kind. Brian had many hobbies including playing the bagpipes, playing the guitar, flying planes and fixing up old cars.
Brian was preceded in death by his father Francis and mother Eileen. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, his son Robert, his mother-in-law Sandy Burns and his sister-in-law, Kerry, as well as his cousins Bill, Steve, Chris, Karen, Mark, Scott, Erin. He will be missed deeply by his Big Brother, George Diskin, and his colleagues and friends. Brian is loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Brian's Life will take place in June; at a date, time and location to be announced. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, Danbury is in care of arrangements.
