Blanca Maldonado, 76, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away on May 1, 2026, surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law.
She was born in Puerto Rico on August 31, 1949, to the late Ricardo and Maria (Rodriguez) Maldonado.
Blanca was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She found her greatest joy in spending time with loved ones, and her home in New Jersey became the heart of countless Saturday gatherings filled with family, laughter, and connection. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome, always opening her home and her heart without hesitation. Her laughter was infectious, and regardless of the circumstances, she carried herself with strength, a gentle smile, and a constant concern for those she loved. Blanca had a quiet way of putting others first, and her kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Anthony Maldonado; her daughter-in-law, Vanessa Maldonado; and three grandchildren, Anthony, Alexander, and Aidan. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Bertha and Casilda, Blanca’s devoted caregivers over the years, whose support brought comfort and peace during her final years. Blanca’s love will live on in the traditions she created, the family she cherished, and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury.
