Barbara (Bobbi) Bick Klebanow Feinson passed away on June 21, 2025 at the age of 97.  Born in New York, she grew up in East Orange, New Jersey and came to Connecticut as a young bride.  She was the daughter of Margaret and Max Bick of New York City.  Barbara was married in 1953 to Robert (Bob) Klebanow who pre-deceased her.  Her second marriage was to Morris Feinson who has also pre-deceased her.  She graduated from Upsala College in 1948, with a dual degree in English and Psychology.  After marrying in 1953, she and Bob lived at first in New Fairfield.  They moved to Juniper Ridge in Danbury in 1961.  During the early years in Danbury, in addition to raising her four children, Bobbi was very involved as a volunteer at the United Jewish Center as well as in many community non-profit organizations.  She served on the boards of the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association, the Danbury Youth Bureau and the Volunteer Bureau of Greater Danbury.  In 1979, she became the executive director o the Volunteer Bureau, writing grants and applying for the organization’s membership as a United Way included agency.  When the Bureau became funded by United Way, it was able to develop additional programs to enhance services on a broader scale.  Within the Bureau she created the Management Assistance Program, whose mission was to match professionals within the corporate community to share their expertise with agencies wanting to increase skill in budgeting, management, marketing and strategic planning strategies to increase their effectiveness to provide their services.  Under her direction, The Bureau also developed the Friendly Visitor and Telecare programs, providing training and the matching of volunteers with seniors living alone.  Other programs innovated at the bureau were The Day of Caring, and The Back to School Dress for Success Project.  At the Youth Bureau, Bobbi started the YES program (Youth Employment Service) for high schoolers and the Earn-a-Bike project for middle school students.  These programs were later spun off to the Danbury Youth Bureau.  After retiring from the Volunteer Bureau in 2005, Bobbi worked at Family and Children’s Services.  She wrote grants to the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Ageing to offer a Chore Services program to Seniors in low income housing complexes.

Bobbi is survived by her children, David Klebanow, Janet Klebanow and her husband Henry Ettinger, Carol Klebanow, Richard Klebanow, grandchildren, Dana Reibeisen, Lexi Klebanow-Haertel, Wender Klebanow, and Elliot Stanwick, great-grandchildren Calla, Ella, Maila, Anabelle, and Leo, her step-children Ted and P.J.
