Attorney Robert J. Wolfe

Attorney Robert J. Wolfe, 89, of Danbury, husband of Joan (Tarle) Wolfe died, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Regional Hospice Center, Danbury.

Attorney Wolfe, of the law firm of Pinney, Payne, VanLenten, Burrell, Wolfe and Dillman, was born in New Haven, CT on March 13, 1936, the only child of Aaron J. and Selma (Ash) Wolfe.

He attended New Haven schools, received his B.S. from the University of Vermont, and graduated in 1960 with an L.L.B from the University of Virginia School of Law.

He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1960; the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1962; and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, in 1966.

A resident of Danbury since 1960, he served on the board of DATAHR (now Ability Beyond) and was a member and past president of the Ridgewood Country Club, a member of the Connecticut and Danbury Bar Associations, and of the United Jewish Center of Danbury.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Wolfe Morrison, Deborah Wolfe (husband Frank Boyda), and Carolyn Wolfe; and by five grandchildren, Kyle Morrison (wife Loren Alexander-Morrison), Corey Morrison, Brantley Boyda, Aaron Gale and Jonah Gale.

Funeral services will take place Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2 PM in the United Jewish Center, 141 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury with Cantor Lilah Sugarman officiating.

Burial in the United Jewish Cemetery, Brookfield will be private.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:30PM on Sunday in the Rose Dick Room of the United Jewish Center.
