Anita Hubbard Harris, age 98, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025.  She was a woman of GOD filled with great warmth, joy and a ready smile.  Anita was a wonderful wife to the late Pearly Harris, Jr., a loving mother to her seven children, a sister, a grandmother and a great grandmother.

Anita Harris was born on October 19, 1927, in Appomattox, Virginia, and was raised by her father, the late Russell Hubbard and her stepmother, Thelma Jane White.  She was one of three girls, sister, Dorothy Madison of Virginia and predeceased by sister, Grace.

On December 2, 1946, Anita was united in Holy Matrimony to her husband, the late Pearly Harris, Jr. and they soon after settled in Danbury, CT.  They were able to celebrate over 60 years of marriage before his passing and Anita was a resident of Danbury for over 70 years.  Anita's local employment began as a housekeeper and she went on to work nights at SNET.  Her last employer was the Barden Corporation, where she worked until her retirement.

Anita found great joy in spending time 'reading,' doing 'word find and crossword puzzles,' and was known to have the answers to many 'TV game shows.'  She loved reminding her family on each Sunday at 10:45 a.m., that it was time to watch the live New Hope Baptist Church Sunday Worship Service.  This was her home church where she had been a member of the NHBC Gospel Choir and attended services until she was physically unable to do so.  She loved and looked forward to the home visits from her church family and friends.

Anita Harris, was predeceased by her five sons, Leon Skates, Steven Harris, Norman Harris, Larry Harris and Donald Harris.  Those celebrating Anita's life and memories are daughters, Yvonne Harris of Oxford, CT, Sandra Harris of Danbury and daughter in law, Juanita Bush Harris of Danbury; grandchildren, Sonya Milton (Lance), Jordan Harris and Esdras Nazareth (Megan); great grandchildren, Kyra Milton, Jayla Harris, and Noah, Chole and Carter Nazareth.  She leaves in her passing, Special Angels, Christine Easter and Alicia Mack, a host of those especially close to her heart, her extended family, her friends and her New Hope Baptist Church Family.

The Family of Anita Harris would like to thank you all for your many acts of kindness.
