Andrew Condron, 95, of Ridgefield, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with his son at his side. He was the loving husband of Rose (Doherty) Condron.
Mr. Condron was born in Ireland on April 15, 1926; a son of the late John and Anastasia (Wall) Condron. Andy was the 7th of 9 children, the last surviving member of his immediate family. He worked a variety of jobs in Ireland and England before immigrating to the United States, sponsored by his friend, Fr. Denis Kelleher. After arriving in NYC he met Rose and they spent the next 59 years together.
A resident of Ridgefield for the past 5 years, Mr. Condron previously lived in Port Richey, Florida and Yonkers, NY. He was a retired bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, early morning walks in the pool where he shared riddles with his companions and gardening as well as time spent with his family. Andy quietly appreciated all the blessings in his life and saw his wife, family, friends and faith as his greatest blessings. Mr. Condron was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield. He spent the last 5 years patiently providing loving care, support and encouragement to Rose. The closest Andy ever came to complaining was actually offering advice – “Don’t ever get old.” If we could all grow old with the patience and acceptance that he did we would be truly blessed.
Mr. Condron is survived by his wife, Rose and their two children; Charles Condron and his wife, Mary (Callahan) and Ann Condron and her husband, Steven Koenig. In addition, Mr. Condron is survived by 3 granddaughters; Claire, Amanda and Marie Condron.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.
