Alan Scott Guthrie

Alan Scott Guthrie, age 79 of Ridgefield, CT, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on April 4, 1946, in the Bronx, NY to William F. Guthrie and Alice (Vanderbilt). He was the brother of William V. Guthrie (Gwen) and Janet Howard (Peter).

Originally from Crestwood, NY, he later attended and graduated from the University of Connecticut. He raised his own family in Mt. Kisco, NY while having a successful career as an executive and owner in the paper industry in New York City.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family and lifelong friends were the center of his world, and he’ll be eternally remembered for his warmth and generosity. Alan is survived by his loving wife Joan (Beman) of 59 years; and their three daughters; Melissa Mitchell, Jennifer Artzt (Gregg), and Allison Fischer (Chris). He was affectionately called Pop and will be forever cherished by his five grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Grayson, Zoe, and Casey.
