Abraham "Abe" Haddad, 87, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Born in Danbury on February 16, 1937, Abe was a son of the late George A. and Mabel (Ramey) Haddad. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Haddad and Conrad Haddad.

Abe is survived by his son, Kevin Haddad of Danbury, CT, stepdaughter Stacey Brill of Orlando, FL, stepson Jeffrey Brill and his wife Cindy Brill of Schnecksville, PA, and his grandson Christopher Brill of Schnecksville, PA. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins from his large extended family as well as many close friends.

Abe cared deeply for all of his children and was proud to have been able to afford each of them a college education.

A lifelong Danbury resident, Abe attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in 1954. After serving his country in the U.S. Army in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he returned to Danbury and opened the Oasis Restaurant, later changing its name to Abe's Steak and Seafood. Abe successfully operated the restaurant for a total of 44 years until his well-earned retirement.

Known for his exceptional bowling skills, Abe won numerous trophies in his youth and was once crowned the R-O-D-E-O King of Danbury for his outstanding driving abilities. Beyond his own restaurant, he enjoyed dining out in various establishments and was well-regarded within the Danbury restaurant community. Abe had a passion for travel, often exploring destinations such as Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Atlantic City, NJ, and Las Vegas, NV, with both his family and friends. His last trip in 2008 was an exceptional one attending Super Bowl XLII with his son Kevin in Phoenix, AZ

Abe, along with his brothers, founded the C.A.G. company, which constructed several commercial storefronts and affordable apartments that continue to thrive in Danbury. He was a proud member of the Lebanon American Club of Danbury and St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, also of Danbury.
