Rose Concetta (Iamartino) Torielli, 90, died in Falmouth, MA on Saturday. Her husband of 68 years Robert (Bob) was at her side. Of his beloved "Rosebud" he said, "There was only one of her kind in the world."
Born in Danbury, CT to the late Guisseppe and Marianna (Moffa) Iamartino, she is pre-deceased by her brother, Michael Iamartino.
Rose is survived by her five daughters: Gina Torielli, Donna McKenna (John), Rosemarie Torielli, Anita Carr (John) and Anne Bulin (Timothy). We love you Mom, oggi y siempre.
She took great pride in cooking for her grandchildren Corrina, Eileen, Jenny, Johnny, Julie, Jered, Emily, Sophie and William, as well as 24 great-grandchildren. Many plates of French toast, wagon wheels, chicken tenders and meatballs were devoured at her table. No one left her house hungry.
Rose graduated from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an RN in the newborn nursery. She remained lifelong close friends with her classmates. Following her nursing career, she and Bob ran the restaurant started by her father, The Old Oak in Danbury CT, for over 30 years. They retired to Rhode Island and later Florida, Pennsylvania and Georgia before settling in Falmouth. Wherever she called home, Rose’s gentle kindness followed her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Danbury.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
